WELLFLEET FINANCE COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF MEETING OF FEBRUARY 26, 2003, 7:30 P.M.,
TOWN HALL HEARING ROOM
Present: Berta Bruinooge, Chair; Deborah Davis, Arlene Kirsch,
Anne Suggs, Ira Wood, Timothy Woodman;
Birgitta Olson, Clerk
Absent: Patricia Foley.
Meeting called to order at 7:35 p.m. by Chair Berta Bruinooge.
7:30 - Public Hearing on Capital Improvement Plan.
There were no townspeople or town officials present at the hearing.
The Capital Improvement Plan was reviewed item by item, and differences noted between it and the Capital Budget. The Plan may change, as Selectmen will meet on March 3rd to reduce the budget by another 1%.
Other Business.
- Mail was reviewed.
- The Minutes of the Joint Budget Meetings had been reviewed.
1/6/03 approved as amended, as MOVED by Kirsch, SECONDED by
Bruinooge, and CARRIED 6-0.
1/9/03 approved, as MOVED by Kirsch, SECONDED by Bruinooge,
and CARRIED 6-0.
1/16/03 approved, as MOVED by Kirsch, SECONDED by Bruinooge,
and CARRIED 5-0.
1/21/03 approved as amended, as MOVED by Kirsch, SECONDED by
Bruinooge, and CARRIED 4-0.
2/5/03 approved, as MOVED by Kirsch, SECONDED by Bruinooge,
and CARRIED 5-0.
- An extra meeting is to be scheduled for March 12th to make
budget and warrant article recommendations.
- Arlene Kirsch noted with reference to the Minutes of 2/5/03
that no article has been placed on the warrant to place money
in the Stabilization Fund.
- It was noted that plans for the development of the former
Catholic Church property are still uncertain.
- It was also noted that no income data had been provided to the
Committee by Department Heads, as requested. It is thus not possible to know the real costs of the departments.
- Members reviewed the proposed criteria for use of Town-owned
land and found them rather heavy handed. It was agreed that
Rex Peterson's Memo accompanying the criteria should be read
any response is made.
